Are you throwing a Christmas party and need inspiration? The ladies of South Sail have great ideas that will have your guests raving long into the New Year.
How great does “The Solid Bold” look on our fellow bow girl? Holding our favorite Santa cup cakes!
Looks like everyone got a lump of coal at this holiday party…rice krispy coal, that is. Who knew marshmallows, rice cereal, and black icing could be so yummy? Not even Santa, I bet.
The recipe for rice krispy coal:
3 Tbsp butter
6 cups marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
5 cups cocoa krispies**
1 cup crushed oreos
black food coloring
Pour the rice krispies and oreos in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
Melt butter in saucepan over medium high until melted. Turn heat down and add the marshmallows until melted. Add in the vanilla and black food coloring and stir together.
Once fully melted, take off heat and pour over the rice krispies. Stir to combine until everything is black. Dump everything by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet, so they look like funky coal shapes. Allow them to cool for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
Jingle Juice was the choice party drink of the evening and who could resist a tasty drink to wash those killer coal krispies down? Not me!
For your use and pleasure, we found the recipe from the Southern Living magazine:
5 cups orange juice
1 cup vodka
1/3 cup orange liqueur
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice
For the Rudolph’s Spritzer just omit the vodka and orange liqueur. Add 2 cups chilled lemon-lime soft drink.
